Government Siddha Medical College and Hospital
- The Government Siddha Medical College and Hospital, Palayamkottai, was established on 30.11.1964 and has been functioning successfully ever since. It is recognized as the world’s first Siddha Medical College and Hospital.

- OPD Timings
- Morning: 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM
- Evening: 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
- At present, an average of 800 outpatients receive treatment daily in the OPD section.
- The inpatient department is functioning has 260 beds, and around 210 patients are admitted for treatment.
- The Government Siddha Medical College and Hospital currently has:

- 44 Doctors
- 3 Nursing Superintendents
- 23 Nurses
- 14 Hospital Staff Members
- 28 Contract Employees
- 12 Contract Security Personnel working in the institution.
- In those days, a Medical Officer with MBBS and DGO qualifications was appointed for training in Obstetrics and Gynecology, providing maternity treatment with a dedicated 8-bed facility.
- Currently, the old, dilapidated outpatient building has been demolished, and a new building is being constructed with an allocation of ₹13.5 crore.
- Today, several medical departments—including General Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Gunapadam (Pharmacology), Noinadal (Pathology), Pediatrics, Toxicology, Gynecology, Yoga Medicine, Varma Medicine, External Therapy, Surgery, and Noi Anuga Vidhi (Preventive Medicine)—are operational for both outpatients and inpatients.
- Through specialized medical units, dedicated treatment is provided for conditions such as:
- Diabetes
- Hypertension
- Renal Calculi (Kidney stones)
- Cancer and AIDS
- Sinusitis (Peenisam)
- Infertility
- On average, 800 outpatients receive treatment daily. The inpatient department operates with 250 beds, with an average of 170 patients admitted for treatment every day.
